Our good friend, collaborator, drinking buddy and surf photographer Steve Baccon has shared with us his latest personal project (and passion) – Surfcraft The Shaping Project. An intimate exploration of a world rarely seen by those outside the scene. Steve somehow talked his way into the shaper’s bay – the hidden place where the surfboard shaper works his magic.

Steve’s photos capture these veteran shapers at work, freezing them in time as they shape, measure, caress and inspect their handiwork , making the whole process look more like a zen ritual than a job.

Way too many great photos to show here – so here’s hoping he turns it into a book!
