Simon Harsent takes photos of football stadiums from around the world. But instead of extreme perspectives of architectural features, aerial shots of capacity crowds or smoke filled images of crazed tifosi, he takes photos of empty fields, closed turnstiles, abandoned goals. Silent and eerie, the photos capture the stillness between the games and the patina of these well worn temples of Football. Pictured above, Lambert Park, Sydney Australia.
